Hometown Heroes Event Set to Honor Hanover’s Active Duty Military and Vets

HANOVER – Local military members and veterans will be honored during a special Hometown Heroes event in Center Square in downtown Hanover on November 10 from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m., according to Senator Rich Alloway II (R-33).

The event will feature a military vehicle car show and booths of information from local veterans groups and other exhibitors. Senator Alloway will have an information booth set up at the event.

The Hometown Heroes celebration will also serve as the beginning of the Hometown Heroes Banner program, which invites community organizations and individuals to recognize the service of local active duty military personnel and veterans by hanging banners on lampposts in the Borough.

“We can never adequately thank the men and women who have answered the call to serve our nation in the military, but it is critical to ensure we explore every opportunity to honor their service,” Alloway said. “My thanks goes out to all of our military members, both past and present, for answering freedom’s call. It is wonderful to see the community come together to honor the sacrifices our military has made on behalf of a grateful community and nation.”

Details on the event and the banner program are available online at www.mainstreethanover.org.
