Local Legislators Urge Community Residents to Support Adams County SPCA

GETTYSBURG – Senator Rich Alloway II (R-33) and Representatives Dan Moul (R-91) and Torren Ecker (R-193) and are inviting community residents to participate in a special “Christmas for the Puppies” donation event on Thursday, December 20 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. in support of the Adams County SPCA.

The event, which will take place at the Adams County SPCA facility at 11 Goldenville Road in Gettysburg, will offer an opportunity for community residents to visit the shelter, offer needed donations, and speak with local legislators about pet protection issues.

Attendees will also have the chance to meet Libre, the Boston Terrier whose shocking case of neglect and subsequent recovery served as the inspiration behind Pennsylvania’s stronger animal abuse statute that was signed into law last year.

“Our local animal shelters do an amazing job of providing for homeless animals, but it is critical for members of the community to continue to help shelters like the Adams County SPCA,” Alloway said. “I encourage anyone who is able to donate supplies to stop by and support animals in need.”

The Adams County SPCA Christmas Wish List includes the following:
