Senator Alloway, Conococheague Watershed Alliance Partner for Creek Cleanup
HARRISBURG – Senator Richard Alloway II (R-33) will partner
with the Conococheague Watershed Alliance (CWA) for a creek cleanup project on
May 15 as part of the Great American Cleanup of Pennsylvania.
The cleanup project will take place in and along the
Conococheague Creek from Commerce Street to the Nitterhouse Soccer Park from 9
a.m. until noon. Registration for participants will begin at 8 a.m.
"Protecting our local environment is important to ensure
that we pass on a brighter future to the next generation of local residents,"
Alloway said. "I am thankful for the cooperation and hard work of the CWA and
its members, and I look forward to a successful cleanup event next month."
"The Conococheague Creek is a beautiful part of the
community and the watershed is an integral part of our local environment," said
CWA President Jennifer Bratthauar. "It is our hope that volunteers from all
facets of the community will become involved in this cleanup project."
Senator Alloway urged any individual or group who is
interested in volunteering for the event to contact Melissa Knepper in his
Harrisburg office at (717) 787-4651 or any member of the Conococheague Watershed
Alliance at conococheaguewa@gmail.com.
